The medical team of UNIFIL’s Ghanaian Battalion (GHANBATT) organized a joint Combat Medicare Course with the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) personnel at the main Ghanaian base in Al-Qawzah this week.
The two-day course held on 26 and 27 March 2018 sought to enhance mutual understanding, common knowledge, confidence and cohesion between the UNIFIL peacekeepers and the LAF personnel.
One of the key components of UN Security Council resolution 1701, which forms the core of UNIFIL’s mandate, is to work jointly with and help build the capacity of the LAF in south Lebanon. The joint cooperation has been instrumental in maintain calm and stability in the area for nearly 12 years.
